Thanks to our Crufts team for returning us to the Finals next year after an enforced rest period last year! Christine, Marc, Jackie and Fiona.

Show May 2010:
Our thanks and congratulations to Fiona and her team for yet another magnificant show. Even Saturday's grim weather could not dampen everyone's enthusiasm and fortunately Sunday stayed sunny in spite of the forecast.   A special thanks to everyone especially the non club members who volunteered their time so generously to make the show run so smoothly.

Congratulations to Nic winning Crufts Small Championship Agility Final with Indi as well as the Agility and Jumping finals and qualifying heats,  Alan and Jackie Gardner were also placed in the Medium and Large competitions respectively.

The Members can now access the current years 'Dogs of the Year' points recording system .  Many thanks to Emma 'Dashin' dogs' Davies for maintaining the site.  Last years records are still accessible.

Members are asked to keep a record of their notable achievements in the book provided in the equipment store.

Winter Training indoor sessions ended Weds 28th March 2010.  Summer Outdoors sessions started Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the VSSC from 7th April.

Introducing the Club

In brief, you should know the following about us: our club was established in 1985 and has brought forward scores of agility winners since. We do not take ourselves too seriously, but we do take having fun seriously.

If you are looking for breed ring craft or competitive obedience training, sorry, we can't help.  Agility and having fun is our only focus.  A sense of humour, a bit of dedication and a carvan or big car is helpful and owning a dog can be an advantage.

Beacon Agility Dog Training Club is based at the excellent grounds and facilites of the Veseyan Sports and Social Club at Little Hardwick Road, just off the A452, between Aldridge and Streetly.

Training is informal.  That, is you train your dog in the style that suits you.  There is little formal training of the handler though we do occassionally invite guest trainers. If you feel the courses laid out are too tough or too easy members have the freedom to set out their own set pieces or course.

If you need formal training for a young puppy, or control of the dog, or basic navigation of agility equipment then our sister club Veseyan Obedience for Agility, run by our Chairman Traci Gaunt can help. Contact Traci 01922 624401. or 07727 280327 (mobile).  Training night is Tuesday (not August).  For daytime training try Happy Hounds, Sutton Coldfield 0121 686 6301 (up to 7pm) for puppy classes, Rally obedience, starter agility and Good Citizens Scheme up to gold standard.

Altenatively for pet obedience (Sunday pm) then try Sutton Coldfield & District Dog Training Club, contact Miss E. Stevenson 0121 308 6925, or Lichfield and District Dog Training Society contact Mrs B Smith 01543 674238.
